Description
Fernleigh is a house dating from the mid-18th century. It features a colourwashed Flemish bond brick exterior with flared headers, and coursed limestone rubble on the left side. The roof is made of old tiles and includes brick stacks. The original two-unit plan was remodeled in the 20th century. The house is two storeys high and has a three-window range. There are segmental arches over a 19th-century four-panelled door, 20th-century two-light windows, and narrow blind windows to the right. A storey band runs along the building. The roof is half-hipped and gabled, with stacks at the gable ends. Inside, there are some chamfered and stopped beams and joists, as well as a chamfered bressumer above the fireplace on the right. It is said to retain its original collar-truss roof.
