Description

This is a 17th-century barn located approximately 150 meters south of Challow Mead. It features weatherboarding over a timber frame, resting on a base of brick and limestone rubble, and has a wood-shingled roof. The barn has a five-bay plan with a central threshing floor. There is a 20th-century double door and a loft door on the left side. The roof is gabled. Inside, the structure includes heavy jowled posts that are braced to the wall plate and tie beam. The roof is a five-bay queen-post design, complete with clasped purlins and windbraces.
