Description

This 17th-century ashlar stone archway is attached to number 6 on the southeast side of Great Faringdon Cornmarket and may be associated with Faringdon House. It features a segmental arch with a keystone and plain imposts. The archway has a moulded cornice that projects forward over the central keystone and at the right-hand side over a similar block adorned with guttae along the base. The left-hand side of the archway is obscured by a later building. Above the archway is an 18th-century small rendered storey that includes one window and a gable.
