Description
Cross Cottage is a farmhouse dating from the mid-18th century. It is constructed of Flemish bond red brick with a limestone rubble base and features an old tile roof with stone slate farwells and brick stacks. The building has a two-unit outshut plan and stands two storeys high with a five-window range. The ground floor has segmental arches, while the first floor features soldier arches over 20th-century windows. There is a raised storey band and dentilled eaves. The roof is gabled with stacks at the gable ends. An illegible datestone is set at the top of the left side wall. Inside, there are cased beams and a wooden bressumer over an open fireplace to the right. The roof is present but has not been inspected.
