Description
This building is a block of four dwellings located at 8-11 Lechlade Road, constructed in 1893 by Sir Ernest George and Alfred Yeates for Alexander Henderson of Buscot Park, as noted on a datestone under the central gabled projection. The design combines elements of Cotswold vernacular and collegiate Gothic styles. The structure is made of coursed rubble stone with stone dressings, featuring gabled stone tiled roofs and stone stacks with moulded caps. It is two stories tall and has 3- and 4-light flat-headed mullioned windows with leaded casements. The doors are plank style with leaded lights set under Tudor arched doorways. Ball finials adorn the gable ends. The building is set back from Nos 6 and 7, and together with them and Nos 12-14, they are collectively known as Roadside Cottages.
