Description
This is a 17th-century dovecote located approximately 20 meters northwest of Number 15, known as The Tithe House, in Marcham. It is constructed of uncoursed limestone rubble and features a gabled stone slate roof. The front has a chamfered timber lintel above a 20th-century plank door, with a drip course above it. The gabled side walls contain nesting holes with stone perches at the top, and there is a timber lintel over a blocked door to the right. A glover on the ridge also has a stone slate roof. While the interior has not been inspected, it is likely to be of interest. There is an early 19th-century extension to the right, made of limestone rubble with a gabled old tile roof. This extension is a two-storey, one-bay range that features chamfered timber lintels over a 19th-century plank door and 2-light casements at the rear.
