Description
The Manor House is a house dating from the early 18th century. It is constructed of limestone rubble with a roughcast front and features a gabled stone slate roof and brick end stacks. The building has a double-depth plan and stands two storeys high with an attic, presenting a symmetrical three-window range. The entrance is marked by a fielded six-panelled door topped with a flat hood supported by carved consoles and a modillioned cornice. The windows are tripartite late 18th-century sashes, with a six-pane sash above the door, and all openings have decorative plaster surrounds. There are hipped roof dormers, each adorned with a moulded cornice. At the rear, there are mid-19th-century alterations and a one-storey extension. Inside, there is a central early 18th-century dog-leg staircase with winders, featuring turned balusters on a closed string, along with early 18th-century six-panelled doors and panelled shutters. The first floor has not been inspected.
