Description
Rowstock Barn is an aisled barn built in the early 18th century, with a late 18th-century addition. It features a timber frame set on a brick plinth and is clad in timber clapboard, topped with an asbestos sheet roof. The barn is single storey and was originally a three-bay structure, which has been extended by an additional bay. It has a tall, broad profile with a deeply hipped roof and a single projecting porch with a hipped roof on the left side. The barn has blank timber-clad walling.
Inside, the barn showcases aisled construction with jowelled posts and arched braces, although some of these have been replaced with straight braces. The roof is a queen post design with an upper collar. This large and well-preserved example of local vernacular architecture is considered to be of listable quality.
