Description
Betterton House is a mid-18th century and early 19th century rubble stone house with some ashlar dressing. It has a basement and three storeys, topped with a parapet and a slate roof featuring brick end wall stacks. The facade includes an ashlar plinth and chamfered quoins that rise halfway up the building. The house has a two-window range with 16-pane sash windows set in plain raised surrounds, and an oval light at the basement level. The central door is framed by a tall stone moulded architrave with a pediment, and there is a large rectangular fanlight above it with metal tracery. The rear of the building is constructed of rubble and brick. The interior has been subdivided for flats.
