Description
Pollards is a house that dates back to the 16th century, with a main range that was raised in the 17th century and a cross-wing also from the 17th century. The main range features a painted brick plinth and is roughcast, likely built on timber framing. The first floor and attic of the cross-wing are roughcast, probably over brick, while the ground floor of the cross-wing is rendered, likely on brick. The building has an old plain-tile roof with a brick ridge stack at the center of the main range and a 20th-century internal stack to the left.
The house has a two-unit lobby-entry plan with a cross-wing to the left. The main range is two stories high with three windows, while the cross-wing has two stories and an attic. There is a four-panel part-glazed door at the center of the main range, surrounded by a painted wood architrave and a flat hood. The windows include three-light wood casements with leaded lights on the ground and first floors to the left and right, a single-light wood casement with a leaded light on the first floor center, and a two-light wood casement on the ground floor of the cross-wing. Additionally, there is a three-light casement on the first floor and a 20th-century two-light casement on the gable end. The first floor of the main range features pargetting with a fleur-de-lys design to the left and right of the center. The interior has not been inspected.
