Description

The White Hart Inn, originally a farmhouse and now a public house, dates from the late 17th century and was extended in the mid to late 18th century. It is constructed of uncoursed limestone rubble and features a cross-gabled stone slate roof, with a brick stack at the left end and a rear lateral stack. The building has two storeys and an attic, with a one-window range. There is a 20th-century door to the right, with timber lintels, and two- and three-light casement windows. To the right, there is a mid-18th-century one-storey extension made of similar materials, which has a brick end stack and two three-light leaded casements. A mid-18th-century rear wing is also built from similar materials. To the left of the front, there is a small one-storey, one-bay 18th-century extension with a 19th-century three-light casement. Inside, the building features chamfered beams and a late 18th-century fireplace in the rear room, while the first floor has not been inspected. Attached to the right is a limestone rubble wall approximately 20 meters long, which connects to a late 18th-century stable, also made of similar limestone rubble and topped with a gabled stone slate roof.
