Description

Gate Cottage is a house with origins dating back to the early 16th century, with alterations made in the 18th century on the right side. The exterior is roughcast, likely over timber-framing, and features an old plain-tile roof with varying heights. There is a brick stack on the left end and a lateral stack at the rear right. The building consists of a single-storey-and-attic, single-bay range on the left and a two-storey, two-window range on the right, connected by lower single-storey bays. A plank door is located to the right of the left range, with a 2-light casement window at the center of the left range. There is also a 2-light casement window in the central linking bay, while the right range has horizontal sash windows, except for a 20th-century two-light casement window on the ground floor left. The interior has not been inspected.
