Description

The Post Office in Coleshill is a small house and shop dating from the 18th century. It is constructed of rubble stone with brick surrounds to the windows, featuring a small moulded eaves cornice, a stone tiled roof, and a west-facing brick stack. The building is one storey with an attic and has a two-bay main dwelling. Each bay includes a three-light flat-headed dormer and a three-light cambered headed casement window. There is a central plank door set in a cambered headed opening, accessed by three stone steps. Flanking the main cottage are slightly lower half-hipped extensions that are similar in style but lack the eaves cornice. The shop window on the south end has eight-pane fixed lights with shutters, and there is a door approached by stone steps. The north end features a similar casement window.
