Description
The North Cemetery Chapel is a cemetery chapel built around 1860, located in Wallingford. It is constructed of flint with ashlar bands and dressings, featuring a roof made of plain and lozenge-shaped Welsh slates in two colors. The chapel has a three-bay plan and includes a west tower, showcasing a High Victorian Gothic style. The entrance features double plank doors with ornamental wrought iron hinges, leading to a two-centre arched doorway on the left, which is adorned with a gabled porch that has a centered archway and a hood mould with carved end stops. The chapel has a trefoil-topped lancet window in the center and a paired trefoil-topped lancet window to the right. The tower is two-stage with a stunted spire at the left corner, and geometrical tracery windows are present at the ends. The interior has not been inspected. This chapel is part of a very good cemetery complex.
