Description
The walled garden, located approximately 20 meters east of The Rectory in Nuneham Courtenay, was built in 1761 for Reverend James Newton and was likely partly rebuilt in the 19th century. It is constructed of brick in both Flemish and garden-wall bonds and has a rectangular plan. The walls on the south and west sides have a crinkle-crankle form, while the north and east walls are straight and may be later additions. Nuneham Park, where the garden is situated, is included in the Historic Buildings and Monuments Commission County Register of Gardens at Grade I.
