Description
62, 62A, and 62B on Bell Street are early 19th-century buildings constructed in a style similar to No 60. They are made of red brick and feature flat, bracketed eaves with a slate roof. The buildings stand three storeys tall and have three windows that are set under segmental arches; however, the central window on the first floor has been modified with an inserted lintel. The top floor has sash windows, while the first floor has modern casements. The ground floor includes a central round-arched entrance, which is adorned with a moulded stucco arch that rests on corbels. On either side of the entrance are large round-arched shop windows. The northern shop window retains its glazing bars within the arch, while the southern window has a painted arch and a stuccoed tympanum. These buildings are part of a group that includes Nos 44 to 52 (even) and Nos 60 to 64 (even), along with Nos 45, 45A, and 47, and Nos 53 to 81 (odd) across the street, as well as No 2 New Street.
