Description
Fletcher Farmhouse Barn is a structure located approximately 15 meters northeast of Fletcher Farmhouse. It dates back to 1638 and the 18th century. The barn is built of coursed limestone rubble and features weatherboarded timber framing, topped with an old plain-tile roof. It consists of three bays, with a deep central porch and opposing full-height doors. The rear wall has half-height stonework, while the front wall extends up to the eaves, with the porch being an addition from the 18th century. There are blocked single slits in the end walls and an owl hole in the left gable. The porch gable and the top of the rear wall are covered with weatherboarding, and the roof is half-hipped to the right. Inside, the barn has two trusses with slightly curved under-principals, curved struts, and two rows of clasped purlins. The tie-beam is marked with "R1638 S".
