Description
The former bakery at The Old Bakery is a disused building that was originally a cottage, dating from the 17th century or early 18th century. It features timber framing with plastered infill and limestone rubble, topped with a plain tile roof. The structure has a two-unit gable-ended plan and consists of one storey plus attics. The timber-framed front unit has a rendered gable wall with a plank door located to the right of the center and small-pane windows on both the ground and first floors. The return wall to the left includes a stable door with a long casement window beyond it in the stone rear section. The building has been extended further to the rear with 20th-century brickwork, and the roof has likely been rebuilt. This building was formerly used as the village bakery and is included for its group value.
