Description
Lady Grove Farmhouse is a farmhouse, now a house, dating from the early 17th century, with early 20th-century extensions and alterations. The building features a red brick base, with red brick on the right and left sides of the ground floor, and large timber-framing in the center of the ground floor and on the first floor, filled with red brick. It has an old plain-tile roof, with brick stacks at both ends and a ridge stack to the right of center. The farmhouse has a three-unit plan with a cross-wing to the right and is two stories high with a three-window range. There is a 20th-century plank door to the right of the cross-wing. The windows have irregular fenestration, consisting of 20th-century casements set within mullioned windows that feature leaded lights. The cross-gable of the cross-wing is adorned with tile-hanging, including bands of fishscale tiles. Inside, there are chamfered spine beams and joists with ogee end stops. A 20th-century addition to the right incorporates some old timber.
