Description
The entrance gates and flanking walls, located approximately 70 meters southwest of the Manor House, date from the late 16th century to early 17th century and later. They are constructed from coursed limestone rubble and ashlar. The original entrance gates, which are now disused, are positioned opposite the original front door. They feature a semi-circular archway beneath a straight entablature with an ogee gable and three obelisk finials. The outer face of the arch has a moulded chamfer adorned with nailhead ornament. Above a moulded oak lintel, the oak tympanum is carved with rays and leaf ornament. To the right, there is a small four-centre arched doorway with recessed spandrels and a label, with plank doors that are likely replacements. The flanking walls step down on either side and return towards the original front of the house, with the right wall stopping short just beyond another four-centre arched doorway with recessed spandrels and a label.
