Description
The Lanes is a house dating from the mid-17th century, constructed with rendered walls, likely over timber framing, and features an old plain-tile roof with a brick ridge stack positioned to the left of center. The building has a three-unit lobby entry plan and is two stories high with a three-window range set at right angles to the street.
The entrance consists of a six-panel door located to the left of the center, framed by an architrave surround. To the left of the door is a four-pane sash window, also with an architrave surround. To the right of the center, there is a three-light casement window, followed by a two-light casement window. The first floor has three-light casements. The roof is hipped to the right, and there are three-light 20th-century metal casements on the left return facing the road. A queen-post roof truss can be seen under the tendered gable on the left return. The interior has not been inspected.
