Description
Stone Farmhouse, also known as Hailey Farm House, is a farmhouse that has been converted into a house. It dates back to the 16th century, with a rear wing added in 1677, and has undergone alterations and extensions in the 20th century. The building features a timber frame with brick infill and a plain tile roof, with a brick ridge stack located to the right of the center. It likely follows a hall house plan and stands two storeys tall with a three-window range. There is a plank door to the left of the center, which is sheltered by an open timber frame porch topped with a gabled plain tile roof. The windows are arranged irregularly, consisting mainly of casements, except for a horizontal sash window on the first floor to the right. Inside, there is a queen-post roof truss visible on the left-hand return. The rear cross-wing is constructed of flint with brick dressings, also two storeys tall, featuring a single-window range. A massive brick end stack, dated 1677, is built into the flint in the brickwork. The interior has not been inspected, and there is a 20th-century extension to the right.
