Description
The southern lodge of a pair located approximately 120 metres west of the Manor House is an early 19th-century gate lodge. It features a light timber frame with plastering and a thatched hipped roof, which has a brick ridge stack. The lodge is designed in a Gothick cottage ornee style and has a two-unit plan that is positioned at right angles to the road. The front is symmetrical and consists of a plank door flanked by single-light diamond-leaded windows, all of which have pointed arched heads. There is a one-storey 20th-century extension to the right, which is partly concealed by a high garden wall. The interior has not been inspected. This lodge is one of a matching pair that flanks the west entrance to the grounds of the Manor House.
