Description
Nos. 27 and 28 are a late 18th-century farmhouse that has been converted into two houses. The building is constructed of brick in Flemish bond with flared headers and some limestone rubble, topped with an old plain-tile roof featuring a brick ridge stack. It has a lobby-entry U-plan and is one storey plus an attic in height. The symmetrical front has three windows, a rendered plinth, and a three-course storey band. To the left, there is a plank door and a 4-pane sash, both with segmental arches, while to the right is an enlarged casement. The half-dormers contain three sashes. The roof is half-hipped with a central stack. To the left, there is a lower rubble rear wing, and to the right, a contemporary brick rear wing with blocked segmental-arched windows and a gabled dormer. There is a blocked rear door behind the central stack. The interiors have not been inspected, but there is a cast-iron pump attached to the rear wing of No. 28.
