Description
Sonning Mill is a building that has been converted from a mill to a theatre. It dates from the early 19th century and has undergone alterations in the late 20th century. The structure is timber framed and weatherboarded, featuring both plain-tile and slate roofs. It has a complex plan and stands four storeys high, with two additional attic storeys and a five-window range. The front of the building has a projecting two-storey wing with irregular late 20th-century window arrangements. The main entrance is located to the side of this wing and consists of modern glazed doors. The main block has late 20th-century casement windows and also displays irregular fenestration. At the attic level, there is a two-storey cross-gable with casement windows. Inside, the building has been modified in the late 20th century for theatre use, but the original mill structure remains intact in the front part of the building.
