Description

Barn Cottage is a house dating back to the 17th century, with significant alterations in the later 18th century. Originally timber framed, the house was re-clad in the 18th century using a Flemish bond pattern of brick and flint rubble, with brick quoins and dressings. The roof is tiled. The house comprises three units, with an 18th-century rear outshut added. It is a one-storey and attic building with a three-window front. Segmental brick arches feature above the 20th-century front door and windows. There are 20th-century gabled dormers in the roof, which also has a ridge stack. A 20th-century extension is present to the left. Inside, chamfered beams and timber-framed partitions to the left and rear are visible, and the original roof structure is likely still in place.
