Description
The Moorings and Boathouse is an early 20th-century pair of boathouses located on Wharf Lane. The elevation facing Wharf Lane features roughcast with some added timbering and has two gables. The southern part of the structure is 2 and a half storeys tall with two bays supported on brackets at the first floor, while the northern part is two storeys high. The river-facing elevation has a rendered facade with white-painted timberwork and red-tiled gabled roofs. It consists of two storeys and an attic, with a central door flanked by windows; the south side has casement windows, and the north side features sash windows. On the north side, there is a small extension with a pyramidal roof supported by arched wooden pillars. A balcony runs along the facade, accessible by a staircase from the landing stage. Each boathouse occupies the ground floor. The Moorings and Boathouse is part of a group with Nos 25 to 29 (odd) Thameside and No 88 New Street, as well as the courtyard surface behind No 88. It also belongs to a second group with all the listed buildings on Wharf Lane.
