Description
The southern section of a wall, located approximately 8 meters east of The Great House in Great Milton, dates from the 18th to 19th century. It is constructed of coursed squared limestone rubble and ashlar, standing about 2.2 meters high with flat stone coping. There is a plain ashlar gate pier, approximately 2.5 meters high with a flat cap, situated to the left of the pedestrian entrance opposite the main door of The Great House. This wall and gate pier are significant as they contribute to the relationship between The Great House and the Church of St. Mary, highlighting their group value.
