Description

St Edward's School complex includes several buildings: Big School, Chapel, Apsley House, Warden's House, Macnamara's House, Tilly's House, and the Main Gate. Constructed between 1873 and later, the buildings were designed by W. Wilkinson and H. W. Moore in the Tudor style. They are primarily made of red brick with stone dressings, except for the Chapel, which is built of coursed rubble.

The Apsley House, Warden's House, Macnamara's House, and Tilly's House are three stories tall with attics and feature two and three-light mullion and transom windows. Big School is two stories high and has five bays, each bay containing a two-light mullion and transom window, with the center bay having three lights and each bay topped with a gable. There is a cloister that leads to the Chapel, which has a buttressed tower adorned with pinnacles and a clock.

The Main Gate is two stories tall, with a central gate on the ground floor flanked by a light window on either side. Above, there are five windows, each with two-light mullion and transom design, topped with a gable. The school buildings are arranged to form a cohesive group.
