Description

62 Banbury Road is a distinguished mid-19th century house, built in 1864 and designed by E G Bruton. The building is constructed of brick with lighter brick lines and features a tall dark tile roof. Stone dressings adorn all the windows, and the house includes gables and dormers, as well as a buttress. A notable aspect of the design is the Ruskinian doorway, which showcases beautiful carving by J H Pollen, who also worked on the Museum.
