Description

Lloyds Bank is a building located on High Street, constructed in 1900 by architects S. Salter and R. C. Davey. It is built of ashlar and features three storeys plus an attic. The façade includes Venetian windows with leaded lights and a round-headed doorway framed by a Gibbs surround. Above the entrance, shaped brackets support a three-storeyed oriel topped with a conical copper roof. The building also has shaped gables and red tile roofs.

Lloyds Bank forms a group with the adjacent listed buildings at Nos 1 to 3 (consecutive) and Nos 5, 8 to 10 (consecutive) on Cornmarket Street, contributing to the architectural significance of the North Side.
