Description

Midland Bank, located at 1 Cornmarket Street, was built around 1896 by architect H T Hare. This building is constructed of ashlar and features three storeys plus an attic. It has semi-circular headed windows with beaded lights and a round headed doorway framed by a Gibbs surround. Above the entrance, shaped brackets support a two-storeyed turret topped with a conical roof. The building is adorned with Dutch gables and has a tiled roof.
