The Rookery, now a hostel for Ruskin College, is a building that dates from the 16th to 17th century, with some alterations and additions on the north and west sides. It is three stories tall, constructed of ashlar and rubble, and features a modern brown tiled roof with yellow brick stacks. The south elevation showcases five 19th-century sash windows set in plain stone reveals, along with a stone porch and a moulded parapet. The north wing has a modern cornice with modillions and includes three stone mullioned windows with three and four lights, as well as a rubble gable end. Inside, there are two stone fireplaces.
