Description

This early 19th-century building at 34-36 St Giles Street comprises houses and offices. The north side is constructed of red brick, while the south side is stuccoed, with ashlar detailing. The main façade is three storeys high and includes basements with area railings, a moulded cornice, and a balustraded parapet. There are nine sash windows across the first floor, within moulded stone frames, and an iron balcony is present. The nine sash windows on the second floor have simpler frames, with a horizontal band running beneath them. The rusticated ground floor also features sash windows with semi-circular heads, and the doorways have semi-circular fanlights. A slate mansard roof is topped with a pierced parapet. Internally, original early 19th-century staircases and fireplaces remain. The building forms a group with numbers 31-46 and 49-56.
