Description
This building, located approximately 20 meters northwest of Newhouse Farmhouse, is a mid-17th century farmhouse that has been converted into an outbuilding. It is constructed of limestone rubble with wooden lintels and features a corrugated-iron roof with a rubble and brick ridge stack. The structure has a two-unit baffle-entry plan and a rear wing, with one storey plus an attic.
The front of the building includes a central doorway, a two-light casement window to the right, and an inserted garage door to the left. On the right gable wall, there is a two-light casement window with some lattice glazing above a four-light ovolo-moulded wood-mullioned window. The central stack displays the remains of two diagonal shafts set on a rubble base, and the rear wing extends to the right.
Inside, there is a massive central stack with an open fireplace that features a stop-chamfered bressumer and a spit rack. The building was replaced as the farmhouse in 1904 and has been unoccupied for many years.
