Description

Hall Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the 17th century, which was remodeled and extended around 1820, with later extensions added in the 19th century. It is constructed of coursed limestone rubble and features a hipped concrete tile roof with a rendered stone ridge stack. The building has a two-unit lobby entry plan that has been extended to form an L-plan, with a rear left wing and a double-depth plan.

The farmhouse is two storeys high and has a symmetrical three-window range. It features keyed flat stone arches above a 19th-century six-panelled door, which has four glazed panels and an overlight, as well as six-pane sash windows. The rear left wing has similar windows and a hipped roof. An adjoining rear outshut has a Welsh slate roof and connects to a service wing from around 1840, which has a gabled Welsh slate roof and brick stacks.

Inside, the farmhouse includes early 19th-century panelled shutters and doors, a central dog-leg staircase with stick balusters, an early 19th-century fireplace in the rear left room, and a 19th-century copper and stone sink in the rear right room. The external walls show evidence of openings from the original 17th-century house. The farmhouse is situated on the site of a medieval manor house.
