Description
Greystones is a house dating from the early 17th century, with some alterations and additions made in the 20th century. It is constructed of coursed limestone rubble and features a steeply pitched thatched roof. The building has renewed brick ridge and end stacks set on stone bases. It has a three-unit plan and stands two storeys high, plus an attic, with a four-window range. There are two entrances located on the left and right sides; the left entrance has a 20th-century porch. The original wood lintel is present over the door. On the ground floor, there are two 2-light wood casements with wood lintels, while the first floor features four 2-light wood casements, also with wood lintels. The right gable includes a small stone-framed window with a hood mould and label stop, and below it is a 2-light wood casement inserted within a stone window frame, which also has a hood mould and label stop. The interior is noted for containing ancient roof timbers and has a door leading to a stair that goes up to the attic in the east gable, although the interior has not been inspected.
