Description
This is a canal bridge located approximately 1.7 kilometres north of Dashwood Lock, built around 1790. It is constructed from coursed squared limestone rubble, with some ashlar dressings. The bridge features a wide segmental arch, which has ashlar voussoirs that spring from projecting wedge-shaped imposts. These imposts are connected to a projecting keyblock by a plain ashlar hood. The solid parapet rises above the arch from square rubble piers, with the south-east and north-west parapets curving outwards. On the north face of the bridge, there is a cast-iron plate inscribed with the number "207", while both keyblocks are inscribed with the number "8", likely indicating an earlier numbering system.
