Description
This is a group of three chest tombs belonging to the Harris family, located approximately 6 to 9 meters northeast of the chancel at the Church of St. James. The tombs date from 1727 to 1863.
From north to south, the first tomb is dated 1786 and 1814, featuring plain sides with balusters at the corners, a moulded chamfered base, and a ledger slab. The second tomb is dated 1861 and 1863, dedicated to William and Sarah Harris, and also includes a date of 1727. It has plain sides with incised panels on the sides and ends, along with a simple band and ledger slab. The third tomb is dated 1797 and 1832, showcasing balusters at the corners, a chamfered and moulded ledger slab, and a stone base.
