Description

The Kirby Memorial, located approximately 14 meters south of the tower of the Church of St. Edburg, is a chest tomb dating from around 1818. It is made of marlstone and features a rectangular shape with a moulded base and cover. The tomb has moulded angle strips and inscription panels, and it is topped with a large gadrooned urn. The inscriptions commemorate members of the Kirby family and still show some black colouring with gilt lettering.
