Description

The obelisk, located approximately 400 meters southeast of Wroxton College, dates from around 1750 and is likely designed by Sanderson Miller as part of the landscaping for the Wroxton Abbey Estate. This tall, slender obelisk is made of ironstone and stands on a square base. It features an inscription that commemorates the visit of Frederick, Prince of Wales, to the Banbury races in 1739.
