Description
Reed's Cottages is a row of cottages that was originally a cloth hall, dating from the 16th century and altered in the later 18th century. The building is timber-framed, with red and blue brick cladding on the ground floor and tile-hanging on the first floor. It has a plain tiled roof, tall brick stacks, and a larger brick stack in the center. The structure is two storeys high and features a regular arrangement of windows, with seven two- and three-light casements on the first floor, alternating in a rhythm of three-two-three-two-three-two-three. On the ground floor, there are four three-light casements, with two at each end and two flanking the center. The doors are boarded and have small flat hoods above, positioned towards each end, while the center door is painted. The rear of the building has five half-hipped gables.
