Description

Forge Cottage is a 17th-century cottage that was originally part of the Old King's Head building. It is timber-framed and was clad in red and blue brick on the ground floor and tile-hung on the first floor. Two timber uprights, likely not wall posts, are visible on either side of the ground floor. The roof is tiled, with a brick stack on a rear wing, and incorporates two hipped dormers. The cottage is one and a half storeys high, with a two-window front featuring 19th-century casement windows. A central boarded and ribbed door provides entry. The building possesses group value from this context.
