Description

The Bull Public House is a hall-house that has been converted into a public house. It dates from the early 16th century and features a refronting from the 18th century, along with render added in the 19th and 20th centuries. The building is timber-framed and rendered, with a shallow painted plinth and a cornice band separating the ground floor from the first floor. It has a plain tiled hipped roof and tall pebble-dashed chimney stacks located on the ridge to the right and left of the rear wing. The structure has a hall-house plan with later wings added to the rear. It stands two storeys high with an attic, which includes a small square-headed dormer added in the 20th century at the center.

The first floor has an irregular arrangement of five windows, all of which are glazing bar sashes, while the ground floor features three windows, including a large casement window with mullions and transoms. To the right of center, there is a half-glazed door set in a moulded surround. A flat-headed porch with a Tudor-arched entrance and similarly shaped side openings is located to the left of center, with another half-glazed door behind it.

Inside, the substantial timber frame remains intact, and the ground floor room to the right showcases moulded beams. There is also a large stone fireplace with a Tudor-arched surround, dating from the late 16th century.
