Description

Two headstones for the Exeter family are located about 20 metres northwest of the Church of St Lawrence. The first is a double headstone for Thomas, who died in 1727, and Elizabeth, who died in 1734. It stands about 2 feet high and features a scroll-shaped head with incised central bones and skull, along with the motto "memento mori." The second headstone is for John Exeter, who died in 1744. This headstone is about 3 feet high and has a fielded inscription panel. It features scrolled shoulders at the head and a crudely executed cherub's head, along with a skull and hourglass.
