Description
Elford Lodge is a gate lodge built in the mid-19th century, with alterations made in the mid-20th century. The building is rendered and features a plain tiled roof. It is one storey high with a garret and consists of a single gabled block that has pierced and moulded bargeboards with a pendant finial. There are paired diamond-set stacks that project from the left side and the rear of the building.
On the gable end, there are paired arched windows beneath a label hood, while the ground floor has a 3-light mullioned and transomed window in a shallow projecting bay, also with a label hood. To the left, there is an outshot that is partially tile-hung, featuring wooden casements and a gablet dormer. The right side has a small porch outshot with a gable above, which has moulded bargeboards and a finial, and an arched boarded door set in a moulded arched surround. At the rear, there is a single storey hipped extension. Elford Lodge was originally built as the gate lodge to Elfords.
