Description

Woodhams headstone, located approximately 8 meters south of the nave of the Church of St Martin, is a mid-18th century memorial dedicated to Elizabeth Woodhams. This upright sandstone slab stands about 800 millimeters high. The head of the stone is shaped in a curvilinear form and features a carving of crossbones over crossed arrows. The inscription is set in a fielded panel with Roman serif upper and lower case lettering, commemorating the death of Elizabeth Woodhams; however, the date is so worn that it is only legible under optimal lighting conditions.
