Description

The stables at Babbs Farmhouse date from the 18th century or earlier and feature a hayloft above. This timber-framed building has a ground floor that is faced in weatherboarding on a brick plinth. The first floor displays exposed framing, which includes ogee bracing and plastered infill. The roof is hipped and covered with tiles. There is a weatherboarded outshut on the northeast side. The hayloft retains a plank door on the left, while a corresponding opening on the right has been blocked. A central post is made from reused timber and has a mortice hole. There is also a plank door on the right and a similar blocked door on the left.
