Description

40 and 42 York Road is a mid-19th century pair of houses that stand three stories tall with a basement, featuring a stuccoed exterior and a hipped slate roof. Each house has a three-light sash window on the second floor. On the first floor, there is a three-light bay window with a cast iron balcony and a hood remaining at No 40. The ground floor includes two windows; the one on the left is round-headed, while the other is a three-light window. The round-headed doorcases are set back on the side elevation and are surrounded by rusticated detailing.
