Description
The Storr ledger stone and its surrounding railings are located about 27 meters southwest of the tower of the Church of All Saints in Brenchley. This memorial dates from around 1856 and features a freestone ledger stone set on a plinth. The ledger stone is surrounded by distinctive cast iron railings, which consist of panels made of diagonally-fixed slender iron rods arranged in a diamond-patterned grid. These panels are attached to square section corner standards topped with bud finials. At the time of the survey in 1988, one of the panels was leaning against the monument but could be repaired. The inscription on the stone commemorates Caroline Storr, who died in 1856.
